Built-Ins

Built-ins made for the wall they go on.

Mudroom benches, media walls, bookcases and window seats for homes and cottages across Muskoka, Parry Sound and Georgian Bay. Built to the opening rather than dropped into it.

The awkward wall is the whole point.

Built-ins get called for in exactly the places furniture does not work. Under a sloped ceiling, into an alcove that is out of square, around a fireplace that is not centred, along a hallway too narrow for anything freestanding.

Those are measuring problems before they are building problems. We template the opening as it actually is, not as the drawing says it should be, and build to those numbers so the piece finishes tight on both sides.

A cottage built in also has to survive being sat on wet, loaded with boots, and left through a cold winter. Finishes and hardware get chosen for that, not for a showroom.

Where we work

Bracebridge, Huntsville and Midland.

We build built-ins for homes and cottages around Bracebridge, Huntsville and Midland, and across the wider Muskoka, Parry Sound and Georgian Bay area.

Plenty of them go into water access properties. A built in that has to cross the water gets drawn in sections sized to the boat, dry fitted before it travels, and assembled on site so nothing arrives as one piece that will not make the door.

If you already have a piece of furniture you are trying to replace, send a photo of the space with it in. It is usually the fastest way to explain what is not working.
